Going Green, Styrofoam, and Kangaroos passing gas?

Posted by TopOfTheThread on November 9, 2007

Everyone should jump in and start Going Green. It doesn’t take much to make a difference.

If each of us did one or two things, we would see tremendous results.

One of the easiest would be to stop using styrofoam. Depending upon who’s data you read, styrofoam will never decompose ( or at least it takes a real long time.) Here is one of the thousands of sources of information regarding styrofoam… from Duke Energy. Click here.

Giving up styrofoam is what I’ve done. For my daily 2 – 3 cups of coffee, I consciously will not accept a styrofoam cup.

…. check out this Going Green story…

Eating kangaroo meat will cut down on green house gas emission” from the Daily Mail on 22nd October 2007. Click.

The article discusses how kangaroo meat is delicious and low fat. It goes on and discusses how GreenPeace says that Australians can decrease ther carbon footprint by eating less beef and more kangaroo… Their argument is cows and sheep release methane through their belching and flatulence, while kangaroos release virtually none.

Whether this is true or not, this is a must read for anyone with (a) the slightest interest in our environment , and / or (b) the need for a chuckle.
