One of baseball’s best home run hitters of all time; Ken Griffey

Posted by TopOfTheThread on April 30, 2008

Chuck is absolutely correct about the focus. on sports

Ken Griffey is nearing 600 home runs and we hear not a peep about it. He has been one of the best all around players in the last 50 years, and if he had not gotten injured, he would be nearing 800 home runs! He is a true role model and drug free!

Meanwhile there has been constant chatter about Barry Bond’s breaking Hank Aaron’s record. The asterisk. Should it count… That is basically focusing on the half empty glass.

We should be taking positive looks on Ken Griffey… and soon Alex Rodriguez… ARod.. as they show how it IS stiill possible to do things the clean, correct way and succeed! (ARod.. get off the 15 day DL asap).

Getting into college. Getting into Duke.

Posted by TopOfTheThread on April 27, 2008

If you really want to go to Duke… Here is what was overheard from a Duke alumnus. Take it for what is’t worth. Apply for the Duke Engineering school. You have a better chance of getting into that school than Duke in general. If you are not interested in engineering, perhaps it can get you in and then you can transfer. While this is a rumour, think about it.

Rangers lose to Penguins; Go down 2-0; Avery still a punk

Posted by TopOfTheThread on April 27, 2008

NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins won a closely fought 2-0 win over the New York Rangers. Penguins scored their first goal on a power play goal with the second goal being an open-netter off the boards.

It was a great game and everyone’s punk Sean Avery caused his typical problems hanging around the goal tender Mr Fleury.

Rumour has it that Sean Avery, Martin Brodeur, and Marc-Andre Fleury, are getting together tonight for dinner and a game of charades.

Kevin Love of UCLA joins the NBA draft — He too is better than Hansbrough

Posted by TopOfTheThread on April 18, 2008

Now Kevin Love of UCLA will be entering the NBA draft. He is ready. Big body at 6-10″ and 270 lbs. He can step right in to the NBA and be a 12 pt 8 reb guy on day #1. He will fit into most teams as a signifcant contributor.

Michael Beasley of Kansas State will be a better pro than Love.

… And Both Love and Beasley will be better than Tyler Hansbrough….

It’s hard to argue otherwise.

Big Time Recruiters without the Big Time Fees

Posted by TopOfTheThread on April 16, 2008

You have your own business or work in human resources at a business.

Often, the best solution is to hire a recruiter on contingency to find you good employees. You only pay them if they find, and you hire, the person.

Most often you will end up paying anywhere from 20% – 30% of the person’s 1st year annual salary, as the fee. So for example, if the person is to earn $50,000 per year, your fee to the recruiter will be $10,000 – $15,000 for finding you the person.

ExclusiveJobs.com is a new online recruiter. They will find, screen, and interview the person. They will supply you with these people and will only charge a 6% fee (if you hire the person.) That’s only a $3,000 fe instead of up to a $15,000 fee.

ExclusiveJobs.com works on a contingency basis. You only pay if you hire the person. You should check them out at ExclusiveJobs.com

If you are a recruiter or employer and would like additional information, please visit the ExclusiveJobs.com contact form and drop them a line.

Michael Beasley vs Tyler Hansbrough — College Hoops

Posted by TopOfTheThread on April 15, 2008

Michael Beasley of Kansas State is headed to the NBA. He declared his intentions today. He will be a great professional player. Athletic. Talented. No doubt about it….

Let’s face it. Tyler Hansbrough of North Carolina “was” a great college player. The problem is a part of his college game was, often, he pushed and forced his way around. He won’t be able to do that when he plays with “adults” in the NBA.
