Buried Alive! Ever wonder what it is like from UNDER an avalache?
Posted by TopOfTheThread on January 16, 2010
Wow. I came across this video and it dragged me in.
Buried Alive!
A skier with a helmet-cam starts down a slope and you have to see what happens…
Stick with the video. It’s not over. The silence and blue is the skier under the avalanche!

The top 3 lies of all time — Update #2
Posted by TopOfTheThread on January 9, 2010
Here’s an updated list from my previous post in February 2009.
- Read my lips, no new taxes <George Bush>
- I did not have sex with that woman <Bill Clinton referring to Monica Lewinsky>
- The discussion on Health Care Reform will be covered live on C-Span <See Barack Obama>
We believe in what you are trying to do! If you let us see the discussions it would not be an issue. Please!

Health Care – Transparency — The SAT Word of the Day
Posted by TopOfTheThread on January 7, 2010
I’m glad I am not taking the SAT’s in the near future because I would have a problem with the definitions of certain words.
<from nypost.com>
During the 2008 presidential campaign, Obama repeatedly told voters that the health care overhaul would take place in a public forum, most notably on C-SPAN …
In a video montage posted on Breitbart.tv, Obama is seen promising voters — on eight different occasions — that the health care debate would be transparent.
In a video montage posted on Breitbart.tv, Obama is seen promising voters — on eight different occasions — that the health care debate would be transparent…
According to thefreedictionary.com…
Transparent –
adj. — frank, open, direct, straight, straightforward, candid, forthright, unequivocal, unambiguous, plain-spoken striving to establish a transparent parliamentary democracy frank
Ant — mysterious, vague, unclear, ambiguous, deceptive, disingenuous
Unless there is a new definition of transparent / transparency, there is no transparency taking place during the health care reform process.
Now The House and The Senate are getting together behind closed doors trying to push through health care reform. C-Span has requested to broadcast the meetings. It appears the administration is denying C-Span the opportunity to broadcast the meetings.
Why the lack of transparency? They already seem to have the votes, so what is the problem?
Hopefully whatever is passed will help the country. Seriously, what is the problem letting us see these meetings? It was promised to us during the campaign on many occasions.
You are making it into a bigger issue (than it is) by denying C-Span the opportunity to broadcast the proceedings.

Unbelievable art and video – Kseniya Simonova
Posted by TopOfTheThread on January 5, 2010
This was sent to me in an email. (Thanks Chris.)
The text of the email and the video are below. YOU MUST READ THE POST BEFORE WATCHING THE VIDEO! Amazing. The talent is unbelievable.
===============================
email was cut and pasted…
Kseniya Simonova says: “I find it difficult enough to create art using paper and pencils or paintbrushes, but using sand and fingers is beyond me. The art, especially when the war is used as the subject matter, even brings some audience members to tears. And there’s surely no bigger compliment.”

Jets Beat Bengals
Posted by TopOfTheThread on January 3, 2010
Being a long-time Jets fan is painful. They break out hearts almost every year. Now they’re about to back their way into the playoffs. Indianapolis gave them a gift.
Now we’re only a few hours away from… who the heck knows! Will the Bengals play their regulars? Will Sanchez throw 4 interceptions?
Let us Jet fans simply enjoy the next few hours before the game starts. We’ll take a win any way we can get it.

Is Tim Tebow the Tyler Hansbrough of football?
Posted by TopOfTheThread on January 2, 2010
Here’s a thought … (we did watch the Tebow cam)
Is Tim Tebow the Tyler Hansbrough of football?
- Both had exceptional collegiate careers.
- Both won NCAA Championships.
- Both won the top collegiate individual awards (player of the year and Heisman Trophy)
- Both are hard-working, good citizens.
- Both will have difficult times in their professional sports (NFL, NBA). Hansbrough may actually have a better chance of making a “good length” career in the NBA than Tebow in the NFL.
Congratulations to Tim Tebow on a great collegiate career. Please be open-minded in the NFL. You may need to be a part-time hybrid quarterback and receiver. Get in the league and show your value. All the cards will then fall into place. We wish you the best.
