Posted by TopOfTheThread on October 9, 2010
There are many articles around about Brett Favre texting some hotties when he was a NY Jet. The timing is interesting. Hmmm… The week the Vikings play the Jets. Was this released this week as a part of the Jets “Psychological Game Plan”?

Green Bay Packers Tampering Charges (NFL)
Posted by TopOfTheThread on September 28, 2008
Tampering, Tapping up: In <a class=”mw-redirect” title=”Professional sport”
href=”http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_sport”>professional team sports, tapping up (British English) or tampering (American English) is an attempt to persuade a player contracted to one team to transfer to another team, without the knowledge or permission of the player’s current team. This kind of approach is often made through the player’s agent. It is expressly forbidden in many professional leagues. (Wikipedia)
After the soap opera in Green Bay ended, Brett Favre became a NY Jet.
Brett Favre is a NY Jet. Will it be for only one year? Will the Jets be able to sign him for a 3 year extension?
Brett is the kind of athlete who can play quarterback into his early 40’s. If the Jets can sign him (who knows if Brett wants to stay in NY), it would be a great benefit to the organization.
The Green Bay Packers had a $20 million marketing, personal appearances, offer on the table to Favre. They made it clear the offer, even after Brett became a Jet, was still available to Favre. The implication is the offer is one the table to Brett after the 2008, 2009, 2010 seasons…
Even though this pending offer to Favre is not to play football, it directly affects the Jets’ negotiations with Favre. Brett only has 3 options; (a) re-sign with the Jets, (b) become a free agent, or (3) retire from football.
The pending offer from the Packers makes option (3) more attractive than it would be without the offer.
This is tampering. The NFL needs to address this unusual situation.

Brett Favre’s First Practice with the Jets
Posted by TopOfTheThread on August 9, 2008
We were there today at Brett Favre’s First Practice with the Jets. The place was packed. We usually make to at least one training camp practice per year at Hofstra. Normally it is easy to get around. Today there were probably 10 times the number of people… Go Jets!
Number 4 jerseys were selling like hotcakes!
