Lebron James. His ego? Being mislead by Team James?

Posted by TopOfTheThread on July 8, 2010

Lebron – you need to surround yourself with different people. Who is guiding you?

This move to ask for an hour on ESPN to announce your decision, shows you in bad light.Lebron James Big Head ego

Don’t pretend it’s for charity. (Yes, we all know the advertising proceeds will go to The Boys And Girls Clubs. That’s nice. You can write a check to the charity for more than they will make tonight.)

Please don’t kid yourself. We all know it’s all about you –  Lebron. It doesn’t sit well with people.

This is not helping your brand. It’s simply showing your ego and how “Team James” is misguiding you. A simple press conference would have been appropriate.

People rise and fall quickly. This is not what Michael Jordan would have done it.  Perhaps you should speak with MJ?

Are you starting to believe you really are  King James?

Michael Jordan versus Tiger Woods – who’s more clutch?

Posted by TopOfTheThread on July 11, 2008

I came across this Michael Jordan video…

and then started wondering who was more clutch, MJ or Tiger?

Both Michael and Tiger were/are the most clutch players in their sports.
Michael was not only the most talented player of all time, but was clutch when the game was on the line. Tiger is clutch and continues to make the important shot when the tournament is on the line.

The edge needs to go to Jordan. Not because he was better, but because of the sport he played. Tiger is awsome and the best golfer ever. The difference: in golf you are not double-covered by two 6 foot 8 inch athletes. Golf is a great sport but it is man vs the course and environment. Basketball is man vs man, or multiple men vs man.

This is not meant as a slight against Tiger. When his career is all over, he will probably be the winningest golfer of all time.

Hoops vs Golf… The basketball player was the better athlete… and more clutch.

Kobe Bryant vs Michael Jordan? Try Scottie Pippin

Posted by TopOfTheThread on June 15, 2008

Tonight is the 5th game of the Lakers vs Celtics NBA Finals. Unless a miracle happens, the Celtics will be the NBA Champions. Up until now, people had started the conversation comparing Kobe Bryant to MichaelMichael Jordan Scottie Pippi Kobe Bryant NBA Champions Jordan.
********************************
Stop!

People are starting to chat and wonder if Kobe Bryant should be compared to Michael Jordan.

Stop!

Kobe Bryant has won 3 NBA Championships. Kobe Bryant as won 0 (zero) NBA Championships in which he was “the man”. He played with Shaquile O’Neill. Shaq was “the man”. Kobe is more equivalent to Scottie Pippin in the Chicago Bulls Michael Jordan era.

Pippin won 6 NBA Championships being the “No. 2 guy” to Jordan. (The year Jordan sat out and played baseball with the Chicago White Sox, the Chicago Bulls, lead by Pippin, did not win the NBA Championship.)

So, to recap:

  • Michael Jordan had 6 NBA Championships being “the man”
  • Scottie Pippin had 6 NBA Championships being the “No. 2 guy”
  • Kobe Bryant has 3 NBA Championships being the “No. 2 guy”

Kobe obviously is a much better talent and player than Pippin.

Even if Kobe (a) leads the Lakers to a miraculous comback this year, and, (b) leads the Lakers to the NBA Championship the next 2 years, he will be a great player, but No Michael Jordan.

… now if Paul Pierce leads the Celtics to the championship the next 2 years… ;>)
